This reminds me of a story my US Gov teacher told us in my senior year of high school.
The seniors on the football team the year before had thought it was a good idea to move his truck to the front lawn of the school, but by the time they made it out of his parking spot, they must have realized the truck was simply too heavy for them. Instead of taking the whole afternoon to carry out their original plan, they opted to turn the car sideways and replace it in the parking spot, resulting in no more than 3 inches of space between the truck and the cars on each side.
The best part of the story is my teacher’s reaction to it. The teachers who had parked on either side of him offered to move their cars so that he could easily drive out, but he declined. He decided that he was going to move his car out of the parking lot without help and without damaging the other cars around his.
It took him about 30 minutes of moving back and forth in the parking space, turning ever so slightly each time. He was one of the coolest teachers I ever had.
